• Wormguard Tablet: This broad-spectrum wormer combines pyrantel, febantel, and praziquantel to effectively combat a wide range of worm infections. Dosage is tailored to your pet’s weight for precise and effective treatment.

In-House Dewormer

• Pets 10kg and under: Php 95
• Pets over 10kg: Php 95 base charge + ₱100 per kilogram above 10kg.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Why does my pet need regular deworming?
Deworming treats susceptible intestinal parasites present in your pet at the time of treatment, but it does not permanently protect your pet from becoming infected again.
Parasite eggs and larvae may remain in the environment, and pets can be re-exposed through contaminated soil, feces, prey, fleas, or other sources. Regular parasite control, proper disposal of feces, environmental hygiene, and appropriate fecal testing help reduce this continuing risk.
How often should puppies and kittens be dewormed?
Young puppies and kittens generally require more frequent deworming than adult pets.
Current parasite-control guidance commonly recommends beginning at around 2 weeks of age, repeating treatment approximately every two weeks during early life, and then continuing regular parasite control as the puppy or kitten grows.
The exact schedule may vary depending on the product used, the pet’s age, lifestyle, environment, and parasite risk.
How often should adult dogs and cats be dewormed?
There is no single schedule appropriate for every adult pet.
For pets that are not receiving continuous broad-spectrum parasite prevention, deworming approximately four times per year is commonly recommended as a baseline. Pets with greater exposure—such as outdoor pets, hunters, pets that eat raw meat or prey, or those living in higher-risk environments—may require more frequent parasite control.
Are all dewormers the same?
No. Different dewormers contain different active ingredients and do not necessarily cover the same parasites.
AVCI carries several in-house and take-home deworming options. The appropriate product depends on the pet’s species, age, weight, previous deworming history, and the parasites that need to be controlled.

Can I buy a dewormer from AVCI to give at home?
Yes. AVCI offers selected take-home deworming products in addition to in-clinic deworming.
Because dosing depends on the particular product and your pet’s weight, follow the instructions provided for the product rather than assuming that all dewormers use the same dosage.
Does regular intestinal deworming also prevent heartworm?
Not necessarily.
Heartworm prevention and routine intestinal deworming are not automatically the same thing. Heartworm is transmitted by mosquitoes and requires a preventive medication that is specifically effective against heartworm larvae.
Some combination parasite-control products cover both heartworm and certain intestinal worms, while others do not. Always check what parasites the particular product is designed to prevent or treat.
Is there a consultation fee for routine deworming?
For a routine deworming-only visit, AVCI does not charge a separate professional consultation fee. You pay for the deworming medication provided or administered.
