Yes, rabies is a very deadly disease.

It is caused by a virus which we identify as a negative-stranded RNA of the order Mononegevirales. It affects any mammal (e.g  dogs, cat, rats, cows, bats, humans) causing non-reversible damage to the brain. When the brain gets damaged, the affected mammal will either show a violent behavior (e.g. viciously biting non-provoked dogs) or an abnormal behaviors(nocturnal bat flying during daytime). After several days, death then ensues due to choking (respiratory paralysis).
